Loaf Bakery is looking for a Head Baker & Assistant Baker

We’re always looking for the right people to join our talented team of Loafers. We can help you gain skills and experience through our staff training programme, and you’ll get to live and work in beautiful Fernie. If you’re positive, motivated and looking for more than just another job, then we would love to hear from. Head Baker

We’re looking for a highly skilled, creative, hands-on Master Baker who can bring ideas and experience to our business, and join us in developing our award-winning bakery. You will manage the bakery unit and the production of our artisan breads & pastries range, and ensure high standards of quality and consistency.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years experience in a fast-paced wholesale / retail bakery environment, including some management level experience;
  • Solid understanding of artisan bakery production and methods;
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to lead and motivate a small team;
  • Contribute to sound fiscal management by monitoring food and labor costs, conducting monthly inventory, and controlling waste;
  • Supervise compliance with established policies and procedures, maintain record-keeping for process control, operation needs and personnel requirements;
  • Maintain a clean and safe baking facility including the maintenance and cleaning of equipment;
  • Solution oriented attitude and the ability to adhere to strict quality standards.

Assistant Baker

We’re looking for a quick learner with a strong work ethic and solid baking skills. A college level qualification and some experience of artisanal breads, including hand-moulding, sourdough, sponge-dough method etc is required, although full training in our product range will be provided.

This is a great opportunity with excellent prospects. Salary c.$28,000pa + benefits.

I see that you would like experienced workers but those who are not experience but real hardworkers, would they also be considered.
